The Bogeyman: Global Warming

Global Warming is the bogeyman of our age. If the moose population is declining then the bogyman (Global Warming) is to blame.

The Mystery of the Disappearing Moose - National Wildlife Magazine
The scientists now believe the culprit is higher temperatures, likely sparked by global warming. “It apparently didn’t take much to add additional stress to their lives to start pushing them over the edge,” says Huschle, who worked on the moose study. “You’ve really got to ask what’s the difference between the 1970s and the 1990s. The parasites have been here. The habitat is here and hasn’t changed much. So you start looking at weather variables, and there is change.” (GW portions emphasized)
The problem is that the data on GW is not just inconclusive, but that the data indicate global cooling within the norms of the past several centuries. The political movers with Al Gore and B. Obama have suppressed information contradicting GW.

So now, GW is the bogeyman. It is evil undefined and scary. What ever natural disaster takes place it is attributed to GW. Hurricane Katrina and an increase in tropical storm severity and number levels. Even though in the past few years the number of these storms is lower than normal. Have you noticed this year how few reports of Hurricane activity you've heard? If GW was taking place the theories say that there should be more storms.

The real reason for the GW hype is personal gain. The personal gain is both political and monetary. For Al Gore it is mainly monetary. He has invested in the Cap and Trade taxation of the U.S. For others it is both. The Cap and Trade bill that went through the House means that most of our cattle farmers won't be able to keep enough water for their cattle this coming winter. Electricity for the water tank heaters will increase in price. Barak Obama said so.

You know, when I was asked earlier about the issue of coal, uh, you know — Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket. Even regardless of what I say about whether coal is good or bad. Because I’m capping greenhouse gases, coal power plants, you know, natural gas, you name it — whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, uh, they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that money on to consumers. (emphasized text is much to the detriment of farmers and cattle herders, as well as small business owners)

They — you — you can already see what the arguments will be during the general election. People will say, “Ah, Obama and Al Gore, these folks, they’re going to destroy the economy, this is going to cost us eight trillion dollars,” or whatever their number is. (If the economy depends upon some individual making a buck, then, yes, it will be destroyed.)
Every new unexpected problem will be blamed on Global Warming. Consider this article about Jumbo Squid. I'd think it was an opportunity for restaurants, but no, it must be Global Warming!!!

Jumbo squid invade San Diego shores, spook divers
Scientists aren't sure why the squid, which generally live in deep, tropical waters off Mexico and Central America, are swarming off the Southern California coast—but they are concerned.

In recent years, small numbers have been spotted from California to Sitka, Alaska—an alarming trend that scientists believe could be caused by anything from global warming to a shortage of food or a decline in the squid's natural predators.

In 2005, a similar invasion off San Diego delighted fisherman and, in 2002, thousands of jumbo flying squid washed up on the beaches here. That year, workers removed 12 tons of dead and dying squid.

This summer, the wayward squid have also been hauled up by fisherman in waters off Orange County, just north of San Diego. (GW emphasized)

How about the Swine flue epidemic? Yep! Here's a good post on the issue.

Global warming is a bogeyman created by the progressives and statists so that they can tax you and me, ensure their positions of power, and create a society based on equal outcomes. They are Utopians. Their dreams will fail, and unless we work together to thwart them, we will suffer greatly under them.
