We held Hilda's funeral today. It was a beautiful morning. The people at Grace Lutheran in Grygla have again graciously allowed us to hold the funeral at their facility without any interference in the worship service.
Hilda's home church was Northwood Church. And she was buried in the cemetery at Northwood. Northwood disbanded many years ago, but they hold reunions of the families of the congregation each year.
It is a nice little building that has been kept up very well through the years. It is north of Grygla along the Moose River in a beautiful scenic setting.
The funeral director, Erling Johnson, is a friend of the family and we had two little boys ride with us in the hearse to the cemetery. Man, they were full of questions and conversation.
The wildlife was out on our drive. We saw buzzards, ravens, eagles, elk, and deer.
At the graveside during the committal there were a couple of Sandhill Cranes that sang off in the distance.
Hilda and her family were very very close. Please keep her husband, Norris, and their children and families in your prayers.
