Hail and High Water on the way home

May 8th I posted on my visit to Hilda at home and presented a picture of a DNR burn area. Here's what the area looks like now.

It's growing back nicely, as you can see by comparing the two photos.

I was on my way home from Hilda's funeral when I took this. It had just rained here, and the ground still smelled of burning. But the area is healthy.

As I approached county highway one I noticed some rain clouds and what looked like hail. As I continued home I entered an extremely heavy band of showers.

Then the hail started coming. Thankfully, the hail was only about 1/4 to 1/2 inch big. No damage done to the car. But it was very loud.

This evening we watched Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Poor Sophie, it was a bit much for her. I think it's the most boring of the series, the most predictable. But little Sophie doesn't have the experience. She was totally scared. She'll probably get in bed with us tonight.
